An Organised Life: Goals

The third part of your organisational challenge in the journey to be inspired and achieve mental wellbeing is setting goals.
Setting goals is so important because it breaks down dreams that once seemed out of reach, into manageable steps. The Goals Book is broken down into different sections such as your career, health and finance. In each section there’s plenty of space for you to record each goal and work out the necessary smaller steps to achieve it. There’s also space to set rewards, which are an essential part of succeeding.
For example, if one of your dreams is to learn a new language such as Swedish, this might be broken down into goals such as:
1. Research Language Learning Options
2. Book into Language Learning Course
3. Find a buddy to practise with
4. Read a novel in Swedish
5. Book a holiday to Sweden
Reward yourself with appropriate treats such as an outing to a Swedish restaurant, watching a Swedish movie (with or without subtitles!), cooking Swedish Cinnamon Buns (recipe here...yum!) or purchasing small, inspiring things for your trip like a book on things to do in Sweden.
A dream that once seemed elusive is now firmly within your reach and only a few achievable steps away.
WEEKLY TASK
Your activity this week is to take three of your dreams previously recorded and break these down into the goals necessary to reach them. At the end of the week you’ll be so excited by the prospect of all you can achieve. What are you waiting for? Start today...
