Keep Track of Your Contacts

5 TIPS FOR YOUR CONTACTS

Barely a day goes by when you’re not given a new business card
or need to jot down a name and number. Sometimes it can be
difficult to stay organised and in control of a never ending flow
of new contacts.

Here are 5 tips to help you keep track of your contacts:

TIP 1
Keep business cards in alphabetical order in a card holder. Decide
how to file them, according to the person's name, business name, or similar. Once you have a system, stick to it and save time searching for information when you need it.

TIP 2
Keep handwritten contacts in a stylish address book designed with a layout and size to suit you. Make it a habit to ensure the scribbles on scraps of paper are transferred into your address book on a regular basis, maybe once a week.

TIP 3
If you are predominantly computer based, set up a simple database for your business contacts using Microsoft Outlook. It might have a column for name, company, home phone, work phone, email address, postal address etc.

TIP 4
To avoid bits of paper lying around, keep a mini storage box on the desk to put the scraps of paper and business cards in until you can sit down and enter the details into your electronic database,
address book or business card holder.

TIP 5
Never leave home without your business card. You never know when a networking opportunity will arise. Carry your cards in a stylish Leather Business Card Wallet with space enough to store some of your own cards and a few of your new contacts.
